However, it has nothing to do with poultry. There are many versions of how the dish got its name. One story goes: \u201c\u00c4\u00e4ver isch will doch blo\u00df ne halve han.\u201d (\u201cBut I only want to have half.\u201d). This is what a guest supposedly said in &#8220;K\u00f6lsch&#8221; (the Cologne dialect) to the innkeeper when he served the cheese with a whole rye roll.
